2022 brought about a significant change as Dron & Dickson acquired Cable Solutions, signalling a new era for the company.

Established in 2003 by Ricky Gill and Colin Fraser, Cable Solutions Worldwide boasts a history deeply rooted in the global cable sales market. Ricky, with over 25 years of experience in the industry, alongside Colin's unwavering commitment, founded Cable Solutions as a premier cable supplier.

Key milestones include partnerships with Nexans AmerCable in 2003, leading to exclusive distributorship in 2012. The year 2015 saw the arrival of John Rickman, enriching the team’s senior leadership, and David Gill, Ricky’s son, joined in 2005 to spearhead the subsea division.

In 2016, a milestone was achieved with a significant order for OEM Top Drive Service Loops. The year 2019 marked a shift to a purpose-built facility in Inverurie, enhancing operations. Through asset and stock investment in 2019, Cable Solutions becomes UK’s largest stockist of NEK 606 Cables. The last quarter of 2019 showcased Cable Solutions’ prowess by manufacturing over 50km of bespoke subsea cables in various configurations and sizes for global clients.

Amidst the challenges of 2020, Cable Solutions adapted operations to accommodate customer needs. The year 2021 witnessed a strategic move towards sustainable energy solutions and the launch of the ADMIRAL cable brand.

2022 brought about a significant change as Dron & Dickson acquired Cable Solutions, signalling a new era for the company. Furthermore, Scott Grant was appointed as General Manager, solidifying the company’s strategic direction.

As Cable Solutions Worldwide transitions under new ownership, it remains steadfast in delivering top-quality cable solutions, seizing new opportunities, and surpassing customer expectations in the ever-evolving industry landscape.
